Creating Flight Plan - M300

How To Make a Flight Plan using Earth.Google

One of the ways you can make a flight plan for the DJI M300 is by starting it in and then transferring the KML file to the controller using USB and finishing it there. Google Earth is used to create the polygon for the flight area. Below are the steps to create the polygon and export the KML file.

Creating a Polygon

Create a polygon by either clicking the Add button in the tool bar and then Polygon or by clicking the Polygon icon in the tool bar. (See Figure 1)

Next, draw around your area of interest and close the polygon by placing your last point on the starting point. Your starting point should be highlighted and a Close shape text box should pop up.

Once the polygon is closed, save the project. Google Earth will prompt you to save it under either a Drive project or Local KML file.

After saving it, you can name the polygon whatever you want. For this example, I chose “SolarFarm”. The project will by default be named “Untitled” but this can be changed as well.

Export KML File

To export a polygon, click on the project that you want to export File, and then Export as KML file

After clicking Export as KML file, the KML file to your local computer and from there it can be uploaded to the M300 Controller.
