Connecting to Rededge-P WiFi

You have the ability to connect to the Rededge-P sensor via wifi. These are the steps to do so...
Ensure the Rededge-P is powered on
Connect the sensor to the DJI M300
Connect the DLS2 into the Skyport on the Rededge-P
Power up the DJI M300
Connect to the WiFi of either sensor
If fully assembled the RedEdge-P will be the only camera broadcasting a network to connect to
Refer to for SSID & password for each camera
Once you have connected to the sensors’ network, Search “
This should direct you to the AgEagle Camera App where you can configure the settings for the sensors

Configuration of the Rededge-P Dual Camera System

For the Rededge-P Dual Camera System there are a couple of settings that need to be reconfigured. Below are the 3 main settings....

RedEdge-P Blue - Auxiliary
DLS 2 - Auxiliary
info
RedEdge-P Blue Configuration
The RedEdge-P Blue is mounted in a way that the Wi-Fi dongle can’t fit when mounted with the RedEdge-P. So to configure the RedEdge-P Blue, it needs to be powered on by itself when attached to the Skyport so that it can have the Wi-Fi dongle inserted.

NOTICE

While all of these settings should stay in this configuration.
In the event that the Rededge-P Dual System is not capturing imagery, double check that the settings are set in align within this documentation.

Work Flow

This is the start to finish workflow for using the Rededge-P Dual System with the DJI M300 for a mapping mission

Equipment List

Rededge-P Dual System
DLS2
Calibrated Reflectance Panel (CRP)
Mounting Hardware
Two M3x16mm
Two M3x10mm
5 washers
2 Dampeners
2.5mm Hex Wrench
Express Card Reader

Mounting Rededge-P Dual System

Setup DJI M300
Attach Rededge-P Dual System to the Skyport attachment on the DJI M300
Mount the DLS2 to the top of the M300 (Ensure the DLS2 port is facing the front of the aircraft as shown below)

DLS2 Mounted onto of the DJI M300 with port facing the front of the aircraft
Connect the DLS2 to the Skyport on the Rededge-P Dual System
Once both the DLS2 & Rededge-P Dual System are installed the completed instillation should look like this:

Turn on the aircraft & move onto calibrating the system

Calibrating the DLS2

Once the System is powered on, connect to the sensors
and go to the
Navigate to SettingsDLS Configuration, click Calibrate DLS Mag

WARNING
This calibration process will require you to pick up the DJI M300 and move it in various directions. Be VERY careful when handling the aircraft
At the end of the Calibration it should report “Calibration Successful”
Now you are ready to start the mission

Flying the Mission

When mission planning, ensure you are following the as prescribed by MicaSense and if the Rededge-P is not an added sensor in DJI Pilot 2 to refer to
Before actually flying, the first step is to take a picture of the calibrated reflectance panel (CRP). This is done by holding the sensor/ aircraft and pressing the Red trigger button on the Rededge-P (this will take an image on both the RED & BLUE sensor)
When you are capturing the image of the CRP best practice include:
Hold the sensor/ aircraft about 1m in height over the CRP
Stand with the sun at your back ensuring there is no reflectance of light and there is still sun hitting the CRP. (This may require taking one big step to either side of the CRP)
Once the image has been captured, proceed to flying the mission.
After the mission is over, prior to turning off the aircraft/ sensor make sure you capture an image of the CRP in the same position that you stood in Step 1 of “Flying the Mission”

Weather

For processing the data use the following workflows
If weather is Sunny only use the Panel Values
If overcast use the Panel Values & DLS
